In June 2013 we launched a competition for our club members to design the new Leicestershire YAC logo. From our sessions over the year, we knew that the group had lots of talent and we wanted to show everyone just how good they all were!
They did not let us down with all their fantastic entries and it was very hard to make the decision on the winning entry, along with choosing the second and third prize winners.
In March 2014, we were very happy to announce that the winning entry was submitted by Caitlin. We particularly liked how Caitlin had thought about what archaeology in Leicestershire meant to her. The grinning skeleton letter “Y” is a particular talking point! Great work Caitlin!
Many congratulations to our runners up also; second place to Adam with his colourful representation of the excavation of “YAC” in runes along with other finds being uncovered by an archaeologist and to Joshua who has given Leicestershire YAC an impressive home!
Thank you to our other competition entries.
The Leicestershire YAC Team would like to say a special thank you to the following organisations or individuals, for their generous donations for first, second and third prizes: YAC UK, Leicestershire County Council, University of Leicester, Michael Wood, Caroline Lawrence, Francis Pryor and Mathew Morris.
