Mireya – Branch Assistant

Hello, I am Mireya. I am a professional archaeologist and former teacher of Classics. I came to the UK from Spain to complete my studies on History of Art, and quickly returned to study archaeology. Although I spend most of the time digging in England, I really enjoy the sun and so, I try to escape, and thus, I have been involved in archaeological projects in southern Spain, Northern Africa, Italy and more currently Cyprus. I am particularly interested in funerary practices, completing my doctoral thesis on funerary landscapes of the central Sahara a few years back.
I really enjoy working with young people, so by joining YAC I am able to do the two things I love the most, teaching young people about my discipline and hopefully inspire them to learn about our past through its material culture.
