We are very excited to let you all know about an event YAC’s running in partnership with the University of York this summer:
Great Excavations: YAC Family Archaeology Conference is a whole day event at the University, giving young people a chance to hear from a range of archaeologists doing real contemporary research. There will be archaeologists speaking on Star Carr, the Himalayas, archaeological science, and Martin Carver talking about Sutton Hoo and his adventures round the world with a trowel! There’ll also be activities to take part in hosted by us and the team from Jorvik, and opportunities to find out more about what it’s like to study archaeology at university.
It’s on Saturday 26th July, 10.30am – 5pm, and it’s £10 per person with lunch included. Suitable for ages 8+, all children and young people must bring an adult (who needs their own ticket – it’s £10 per seat!). More information will be appearing periodically on this webpage: http://www.yac-uk.org/ebconf26
